The Rover Enthusiasts Club of Ireland was formed in 1996 and caters for all models in the Rover range from the earliest P1 up to the modern Rovers. We also include the classic Land and Range Rover off road vehicles.
Since the club was formed we have been involved in raising money for many charities and in 2005 a classic car restoration class using a Rover P6 was set up along with Youthreach, an organisation based in County Meath which helps early school leavers to gain a trade.
We have many members spread throughout Ireland, both north and South, some of whom use their cars as regular transport.
Regular committee/club meetings are held and informative newsletters are issued to all members detailing up-coming events, reports from shows members have attended and cars and parts for sale.
An annual AGM and end of season meal is held in November and as a club we attend many of the classic car shows around the country as well as organising our own events. In May 2007, we held our first ever all Ireland classic and vintage show in Killucan, County Westmeath.
Over 400 exhibits were on display with everything from classic and vintage cars, through to steam engines, commercials, stationary engines, tractors and an auto jumble. Since 2012, along with the Trim Classic Car Club, we have become involved with the running of the annual Trim, County Meath show.
Membership is open to both owners and non-owners of Rover vehicles and also to anyone with an interest in all matters Rover.
